This is such a beautiful design and a easy sew. I loved the option of the gathered waist, which hides all my lumps and bumps from having kids! I would highly recommend this pattern!

As a mother of four, I often rely upon quick, simple patterns that can be made for myriad occasions with various fabrics and options. Last minute event? No worries! Carolina is a breeze to sew up and can be as dressy or casual as needed by choosing velvet or french terry, maxi or knee length, 3/4 or short sleeves, etc. I love that this one pattern can be an everyday staple or used for special occasions!
Angel Pooley –

Pamela Turner Munnerlyn –
I enjoyed making this dress so much and I love the way it looks on me and it was an easy sew. I have already made another one and I know it will be a pattern I will go back to again and again.
Diane Cullum –
I was so excited to sew this dress. I knew it would be pretty quick to sew and fit. I was right! The instructions were clear (maybe just need a little more clarification on how far the bodice pieces cross over or have notches to match). My dress turned out very pretty (my husband complemented me on it immediately when I showed him before it was even hemmed). And bonus, it’s so comfortable to wear!
Dési Rée –
This was the easiest dress I I have ever sewn. So quick also
Yulia Shikhova Korinnyi –
I have used this pattern for my Christmas dress because it was so easy and I love a good knit dress. This is the first cross over dress I made that actually looks good on me. I am definitely making more for other seasons as well.
Nikki Eatwell –
Love this pattern, it’s a really easy sew. The dress is so versatile, everyday in jersey or something special in velvet. Will definitely make this again.
Terri Pettigrew –
One of the easiest and quickest dresses I have ever made. This super simple pattern and easy instructions really made this pattern an awesome and easy sew. I can’t wait to make more and it is very work appropriate attire. #Love! <3
Francisca Beitler –
An easy pattern to sew. It has great opportunities for making it your own style by changing the skirt of sleeveform. I added a half circle skirt. Great for using left over fabric when using different colors by the bodice, waistband, skirt or sleeves.
Chiara Kruse –
A modest cross front dress that is perfect for work or play. Sews up fast and with the multiple sleeve and skirt lengthes you will soon have a closet full of Carolina.
Ng Puay Choo –
This is an easy sew except for the sewing of clear elastic on shoulders and neckliine. I love how it turns out with just 2 yards of fabric.
Liz Faber –
This dress was a quick and easy sew. Came together a lot quicker than I thought and it feels really well made with the bodice lining. I will be making more in different fabrics with some modifications, such as pockets! A versatile pattern to dress up or down.
Tania Watson –
This dress is super quick and easy to make. It has loads of options so you can very much make it your own and to suit lots of situations. Great pattern for those not used to sewing with stretch material as it comes together really easily. Love the elastic in the seam of the cross over as stops any gaping.
Nali Nali –
This is amazing to sew. It comes together quite quickly and I love the cross -over design – stylish and flattering ❤

Stephanie Springer Leddy –
I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the Carolina came together! It’s extremely comfortable and flattering – even with my 19 week baby bump 🙂 I like that the design can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on the material used and how it’s styled. I can easily see this being a great work dress, but also a great casual “run errands around town” dress. Lots of flexibility with this one! I think I’ll wear it a lot!
Nicole Lueke –
Love this pattern. It was a very quick sew and turned out beautifully. It’s a great dress to wear to an event or somewhere more casual. As a larger chested lady I love the addition of the clear elastic in the neckline as it means that wrap portion stays exactly where it should be.
Emilee Elder –
I love this dress! It was a quick sew and looks beautiful. It is a great option if you’re looking for a party dress that is a little more casual.
Rebekah Homer –
I LOVE this dress.I was rather surprised at how much I love it. Often cross over tops are too revealing for my preferences. However, this one had a high crossover, though it is easy to shift it to sit under /between the bust (insead of over it)- which gives a sightly deeper v, with some flattering gathering. I graded between a L for the top, XL for waist and XXL for the hip. The fit was spot on for me. I’m between the XL and XXL on my hip, so I sized up to the XXL since the skirt is slimmer through the hips.
The constructions was fairly easy- specially if you are accustomed to making lined garments. Perhaps the most difficult is applying the clear elastic, though I didn’t have any trouble. Despite the line bodice, the sew is very quick , and in maxi length- quite elegant.
Chantal van Drunen-Ezendam –
What a lovely dress this is. It took me ages to get started, but once started it was finished in a heartbeat. The pattern itself is very flattering for most body types. Next version I will probably hack the neckline to be a bit more revealing though.
Tiffany Amos –
I love it ! Maxi length was my choice for this beautiful style because it is sure to last during every season and no matter what the engagement it always is a classy piece . Thank you so much !
Kainui Nihipali –

Gabrielle Carisse –

Breana Mayfield –
Love this dress! Came together rather easily and fast too. I made the size medium in a double brushed poly and it’s super comfortable.
Pamela Stump –
This dress was an easy sew. Make it elegant in stretch crushed velvet, everyday in stretch rayon knit, or casual in a cotton lycra. It’s a *very versatile* pattern!
June Butchee –
The Carolina sews up fairly quickly with fabulous results. You can make it an everyday dress or a fancy party dress. It looks great on all shapes and sizes.
Sydney Norwood –
This dress turned out so cute! I’m sort of obsessed with wrap dresses, so I just had to make this one! My only complaint is that I found the neckline of the wrap to be a little high up on my neck, so I will have to adjust for that next time. I am so looking forward to making more of these dresses though, they have such a great vintage feel to them!
Alexandria Phillip –
This dress is awesome! This was my first knit dress and it came out so good! The pattern is very flattering and the instructions were very clear. I’m definitely making more of these and recommend adding this to your wardrobe.
Alieke Enders –
What a wonderful dress to make! The pattern is easy to make by the good instructions that you get. The dress can be made in different lengths and so you have a beautiful dress for every season!
Vicky Hughes –
Loved this pattern, great instructions & fantasic style & fit of finished dress. Can make dressy or casual depending on fabric choice.
Stephanie Koehler –
Love this dress. I made my Carolina in Double Brushed Poly and it fits and drapes so beautifully. The cross over on the top was easy to put together with the great instructions. Having the option of a gathered or non gathered waist is really nice as well as all the sleeve and skirt lengthens. I love it when patterns have different options. You get so many looks in one pattern!
Laura Kraai –
I absolutely adore this pattern. It’s the first time I’ve sewn up a garment so quickly after printing the pattern, and even more so that I’ve already made two and worn them A LOT! Have gotten lots of compliments wearing these dresses and will be making more in the future for sure.
Shauna Richards –
This is a beautiful pattern with details in the construction that really bring up the quality level of the garment. The options for the waist are both really flattering and with the addition of pockets, I’m really not sure how this dress could get any better. The skirt passes the twirl factor and the swoosh factor!
Laura Murray –
I love this pattern and I know I will be making more. I think it’s quite a versatile pattern in the sense that you can make an elegant evening gown or a more casual day to day dress depending on the fabric. It was a really easy and enjoyable sew, and I can’t wait to make more.
Jessica Luckert –
I think I’ve fallen in love with this dress pattern. Perfect fit on the first make, and it’s so cute. I need to make a few more with different options! I love the details in the instructions like adding clear elastic to the shoulder seams and in the cross over edges so everything stays put. And the A-line skirt is very flattering paired with the waistband.
Kris Chick –
This is a great pattern and super flattering design. It was easy to make and I know I’ll be making more in the future! PLUS it has POCKETS!

TaWanna Archia –
This is an very easy sew, especially if you opt to leave out the lining. I love this version without the lining as it feels more comfortable and less fitting. I love the 3 length options and the cross over is very flattering. I also like have two waist options as well. I highly recommend this pattern. It may be my new favorite RP Pattern.
Carmen Mills Brent –
This is such a fun dress! It is super comfortable also. The lined bodice is a great feature, too. Love it!
