It’s a fun and detailed sew. I liked learning new techniques such as how to do flat felled seams.

This blouse is a fantastic go-to piece of clothing – for children & ladies alike. Pairs beautifully with many of the other Mummykins patterns and will really make a any outfit extra smart!

I love all the new skills I learnt. It was quite a challenge for me but am so happy I continued as I feel like I learnt so much and tried lots of new things. I’ve never done yokes, plackets or buttons. Only second thing I had made in cotton so I struggled with this a bit but so happy with the result. Also hadn’t had success with gathering before but this turned out really well!
There are so many options, and it will really push you if you’re a beginner, with stunning results. I can’t wait to try the other versions (dress, long sleeves).

I don’t often make structured garments for myself because it is intimidating, but I ended up loving the way the blouse fit and that I did not have a crazy amount of gaping in the bust like I usually get with button up shirts. I am very happy and really loving both my blouse and Cora’s dress.
Christine Pilotte (verified owner) –
I loved it all ! Everything is explained and demonstrated! Good for me as my English is ok but not perfect. It fits me now and will fit me with my newborn! So Many things you can change to make a different blouse with the same pattern!
Juanita Bell (verified owner) –
I would recommend to follow instructions on pinning and trying on before doing arm/waist. It’s very cute, love the look!
Haley Bolton (verified owner) –
It’s a great pattern that results in the best fitting blouse I’ve ever had. I love the curves at the waist….I love how easy it was put together. At first, it may seem overwhelming, but a quick read-through of the steps, then just going one step at a time makes it an easy sew!
I can’t stress enough how much I love it!!! I’m serious about my love for this pattern! Haha
Anna Metcalf (verified owner) –
It’s a labor of love, but you’ll love the finished look.
Jana Harcus (verified owner) –
I think the results were amazing. At first I was very overwhelmed by all the pages to be printed and the pages and pages of instructions. But, they were very thorough and easy to follow, so I really appreciated them. It is very easy for a beginner to follow the instructions. Although, if they were a beginner I would not recommend using rayon or some flowy fabric as there were parts of this pattern that were too “putsy” and using that fabric made it difficult. I am happy that I have a serger, because again I think that doing the bias or other way of enclosing the seams would have been very burdensome with a fabric like rayon.

A vintage style meeting modern fit. Very well written instructions which are both helpful and informative – they take the fright out of ‘scary’ techniques like adding a collar or a placket. I always find the technique in your instructions very well written – so in this example the flat fell instructions were excellent. I love the fact your instructions are a real education on dressmaking techniques. The finishing techniques give you a garment as pretty on the inside as the out.
Your patterns are exceptional and always on trend! I look forward to making many, many more of these for me and my daughter.
Kelly Carter (verified owner) –
It has given me the confidence to tackle a garment I never thought I could make in a hundred years and I’m now desperate to make some more!
Sofia Henderson (verified owner) –
This is a beginermidate pattern. If you’re looking for a blouse that is easy but offers different levels of structure this is it. The seam finishings are amazing and this pattern will not disappoint.
Maridalia Martinez (verified owner) –
Absolutely gorgeous awesome pattern, just purchased a job interview top in the same style and the testers versions are 100x better than what I bought in the store and added bonus to make ones for baby and doll.
Shirley Soon (verified owner) –
This is a MUST have! I love the sleeves and the placket! Very clear instructions made sewing so much easier.
Shannon Walsh (verified owner) –
You can always use a fancy shirt and it is fancy without being over the top!
Loni Jakubowski (verified owner) –
On trend, while being timeless and incredibly versatile. The pattern went together even better than expected!
Stephanie Durbin (verified owner) –
If someone needs a break from knits (which seems like that’s all the patterns out there in the PDF world) that this pattern will fit all of their needs. Different options (dress/shirt/sleeve length/neck finishing) can make it look so different. And if the person is adventurous, this pattern can be used in more ways than I can imagine!
Jennifer Lichak (verified owner) –
I just adore the hidden seams and details. This is such an heirloom pattern. With a style that will last.
This is a classy yet feminine blouse that can be casual with denim or dressy with chiffon or satin!
Wendy Ratcliffe (verified owner) –
It all came together so easily. I often tell people sewing is like putting a jigsaw pattern together, well this was like putting the easiest, most obvious jigsaw together. Something I would happily recommend to any skill level to try. Follow the instructions and you CAN’T go wrong! It offers a professional outcome for any skill level!
Gabrielle Lamothe (verified owner) –
A must have! I love the feminine details and the beautiful bow!
Amy Reinagel (verified owner) –
This blouse is perfect for everyday wear. Wear it with jeans for a sweet casual look, or pair it with the Paris Party Skirt for a fun, feminine look.
I LOVE the vintage look of this blouse. I will make many more of these for sure 😀
Christina Gossard (verified owner) –
I liked easing the the placket pieces in place, because it was a little tricky for me and I love practicing different techniques.
The Madison Blouse is a great pattern that will help you produce a professional and beautiful top or dress. I am always so proud of the pieces I make using Mummykins & Me patterns because I know they are made correctly!
Jess Boaz-Head –
I love this top! The results are so professional (as with all Rebecca Page patterns). It’s quick and relatively easy.
Carrie Wilson –
Beautiful, classy and stylish, the finish product is just that. Instructions are clear enough for a beginner to complete a classy blouse. The yokes really make this stand out.
Nichole Merren –
Make adorable matching child/doll sets when you grab the bundle! Easy to follow pattern makes a perfect dress or shirt for 18” dolls and stuffies. I plan on making many more in lots of colors as my daughter is in love with her matching set!!
Adawiyah Hairuni –
I love this pattern! This is my first time sewing buttonholes so I guess it’s a good start for me to overcome the fear! I don’t usually sew woven but now I think I already getting used to it. Instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Frieda Flavianu –
What a unique, classic design with a perfect fit???. This will be my go to blouse ? pattern for pairing. I am in love with this pattern.
Lisa Giorcelli –
This blouse is a really gorgeous design that is quite flattering, however I have used different techniques for similar blouses/button up shirts that create a neater finish inside the garment.
Shona Young –
This blouse is gorgeous and whilst it has many different skills to use the instructions make it clear and easy for anyone attempting them for the first time.
Make sure to fit correctly and you’ll have a blouse you’ll want to make over and over again.
Querida Gardiner –
I made my Madison with a floaty fabric and made fabic covered buttons to match. It was worth the extra effort as the blouse turned out beautifuly and I have had lots of positive comments. This is a blouse that looks great with jeans or dressed up with smart trousers for work or special occassions. One for a capsule wardrobe no doubt.
Clare Bowes –
“This is a lovely blouse which can be worn for work, casual or dressed up, you have different style options. I made size XL with a polycotton print simple short sleeves (pleated) and plain collar.
It’s a great sew if you want to advance from beginner to intermediate, take each step at a time.”
Khirya Littoria –
Modèle chic, coupe féminine … – Chic model, feminine fit …
Bernadette Aitken –
This blouse has very easy to follow instructions and many options for finishing it. I appreciated the detailed photos and notes. My blouse fit as expected from the measurements given. I like the fit and feel. I used a light weight cotton. I know it will become a staple in my wardrobe.
Alba Gallifa Hurtado –
First of all I want to say that the result of this pattern is sooo great. I love that you give a lot of options for the same pattern. This allows you to have 3 or even 4 sews in the same sew ? I love it!
I am not used to sew in inches yet (I usually sew with 1cm). This has made the sew of the blouse more difficult for me (especially in the curves). I will have to improve my sewing abilities in my next sew.
Instructions are so clear and that’s the clue for those who are beginners in the art of sewing. You always feel that you are not alone in the sew <3.
I'll make more Madisons for sure!!
Thanks 🙂
Angela Kypreos –
The Madison is a classy, feminine blouse that individualised to suit your personal style. It’s not a quick sew but the instructions and pictorials help to guide you through each step clearly and thoroughly. It’s great for making wardrobe staples and fancy shirts.
Lisa Corriveau –
My Madison blouse turned out great! Instructions were clear & easy to follow & I was able to make some fit changes easily–a wide shoulder adjustment, as well as grading from M at the bust to XL at the hips. Folding under the gathered parts at the shoulder, back & chest to create French seams is very fiddly, but well worth the clean finish. The blouse is really lovely in a soft drapey rayon & has a great retro feel to it. Can’t wait to wear it out with a pencil skirt.
Luana Furlanetto –
This pattern has a wow effect to it. I used silk to make my Madison and I love it. I am in love with all the details that make it look so professionally made. I took my time to make it, but it was absolutely worth it!
June Butchee –
The Madison is a nice, flattering sew. You have a choice between a stand-up collar or a sash type tie. I chose the tie. You can make the Madison as a casual or as a dressy top depending on your choice of fabric.
Sandy Simpson –
What a lovely blouse pattern. The gathers on the bodice and on the sleeves make it feminine without being boxy and oversized. It has lovely shaping through the waist and hips and looks great with both jeans and tucked in with a straight skirt. A very versatile pattern
Jennifer Schonhaar –
Ok. So I didn’t read the pattern closely enough about fabric type and bought some knit that I fell in love with. I didn’t realize until I was into the sew that I should have used a woven. So, I think this was a little harder because of that, but now that I’m finished I LOVE this top and want to make another one with woven fabric. I did long sleeves and just a collar no tie. My daughter thinks the buttons aren’t a great match so I’ll probably switch those out at some point. Otherwise this is a great addition to my closet. Thank you.
Charlene Lee –
This blouse has a very nice finished look and can be casual or dressy depending on the choice of fabrics. I like that it can be made into a dress also. It’s nice to have 2 patterns in one. This pattern was an enjoyable sew.
Jemma Tredinnick –
This is the perfect blouse for work. Neat and stylish! I did the version without the tie as I like a clean look and it fits beautifully.. It kind of has a saucy librarian vibe! I sewed size small in rayon and it drapes beautifully. There are a few complicated techniques but the instructions are very clear and easy to follow so it’s great for improving your skills.
Charlene Lee –
This is a cute dress or blouse for the 18″ doll. but a bit involved if making the long sleeve version. I didn’t fit this well to the doll. since it was a bit tight on the doll. I thought it surely would fit…however when I do it again I will enlarge the cuffs and add a little extra to the side seams as well. It is nice to have patterns that can be made for the dolls to match the child’s. I used a woven cotton fabric.
Grace Elliott –
My daughter loves matching with her dolls, and this Madison was no different! It was also quite challenging for me; I’m not used to sewing such tiny clothes! I changed the button closure to velcro with decorative buttons so my little girl could dress her doll. It’s so fun to have coordinating patterns though, it’s totally worth the work.
Grace Elliott –
I’m impressed with my Madison blouse. It is comfortable with all the fancy seam finishes! I decided to go ahead and practice with blouses for me before embarking on button downs for my husband, and this pattern is perfect practice especially with flat felled seams. I used a border print which turned out fantastic!
Amber Stefanick –
This was a really easy sew and came together quickly. The directions were straightforward and easy to follow. I highly recommend it!
Charlene Lee –
I like this pattern, it has a nice shape and is easy to put together. It can be used to make so many different sizes of baskets that the price will be worth it! Quick and easy sew with nice results!
