It’s an easy pattern if people take the time to always read the instructions first. There are some different techniques that people can learn from, especially those who have never done a French seam, encasing of bodice, 3 gathering stitches before, etc.

It is nursing friendly and can worn before, during, and after pregnancy without screaming MATERNITY. It also includes options for different finishes so you may even learn a new technique or two.

Not only did I end up with a lovely dress but I also felt I learnt something. Very beginner friendly with detailed explanations of construction techniques. The options make it a good all rounder pattern to suit a variety of occasions.

It’s a lovely dress. The most sexy dress I had since a long time. You can use it to create a bunch of style, even swimsuit and lingerie depending on which fabric you use.

It’s so cute and has so many options! ? I think the faux shirring is so clever. I want to learn to do it properly but to get such a great effect without fiddling around with bobbin elastic was so cool!

A well thought out and easy to follow pattern with a number of useful variations using techniques that help you obtain good fit for different figures. Particularly like the variety of finished options using both woven and knit fabrics and the added potential for use in pregnancy/feeding.

As always, pleased with the pattern. I think a sleeve hack is underway 🙂

You know how on really hot days you don’t want to wear clothes? This dress is perfect for those days because the skirt really doesn’t touch your legs and the lined top feels more like a hug than a dress. I love love love love love your patterns!

I’ve never worn a dress like this before because the top doesn’t fit well – but this! It is comfortable, it hides my bra straps, it has just enough coverage while still looking amazing, and nursing in it is a breeze. I have never worn a dress that looked as flattering while being this comfortable. It’s usually a trade off – you feel comfortable but look like rubbish, or you look amazing but you’re self conscious or miserable. But this! This dress/tunic – it has no trade offs. Look hot, feel comfortable.

Honestly the best part was the finished top with the decreased gather in the skirt, l would never wear anything like this as l don’t usually wear anything with cleavage and bare shoulders. l love the top and having a stitch to cover up a bit did not detract from the effect of the bodice but still retained some modesty, after looking at my pics l see that there is still some little bit of cleavage which l found didn’t look unattractive but quite feminine. This style is so versatile, from casual to evening, dependending on fabric choice. Since my husband LOVES it so much won’t stop raving l will make more, he rarely says much about my sewing so you have to know this is a winner. Give it a go, it is a simple design with options, l am an option lover, knit, woven, knit and woven you can get so much from the one pattern, top, dress or maxi – it has it all.

So flattering, especially with knit fabrics. Very comfortable too, I will make many more. I loved your suggestion to sew three rows of gathering stiches, it helped a lot to achieve a beautiful skirt.

The first thing I have sewn myself that I actually like and will wear due to great instructions and tips on getting the perfect fit. It hides my mummy tummy!

I liked the clear directions and I love the ‘shorter’ version of the tutorial once I make a bunch and don’t need the pictures to remind me how to do things! I’d say it’s a great fit if you’re the right height. Be prepared to make a few minor adjustments if you’re short like me. It’s very flattering on.

I think it turned out great – and it’s not my last Monte Carlo!
The length is perfect for me – hitting just below my hip (which is how I like it). I am 5′-2″ just so you get the idea of length. The pattern is drafted for a 5′-6″ high frame, but rarely do I take length off a top due to personal preferences of covering my booty.
The front is definitely boobalicious, so I sewed a couple of tacking stitches to keep the Girls in place. A bigger bust would definitely keep things in place more naturally as an FYI.
I opted for straight straps, as cross overs aren’t nice for my neck and shoulder issues – it’s comfy and the straps stay put without having to put them back in place (yay!).
I’m the proudest of a new technique I learned – shirring.
The shirring instructions were on par and easy to understand with step-by-step pictures and verbiage which held my hand the whole way through. (thanks, Rebecca!)
And guess what? It turned out perfect and even looks a bit professional!
