Fabric
Your fabric needs to be a stretch/knit fabric. It can be any weight however best results & fit will be achieved with a medium weight fabric. Great examples are sweater knits, medium weight jersey, stretch fleece, and stretch french terry. Do not use a woven fabric.
Your fabric will need at least 50% stretch to get the fit as designed. Both 2-way and 4-way stretch will work for this pattern. The stretch recovery of the fabric is as important as the stretch percentage. This will ensure your pants maintain their stretch and fit for as long as possible and not become baggy.
Optional Tummy Support - For additional support you can add a 4-way stretch power mesh which will lift and support the tummy. If you need only a little support, you could use the same fabric as your pants.

These yoga pants are such a quick and easy sew! They come out lovely and comfortable and are so versatile! I am going to make so many more pairs! With the length and straight or tapered leg options these are a great all around pattern! Anyone can sew this pattern up because it was easy and had great instructions and tips to get the perfect fit.
Adelle Pears –
These are the most comfortable trousers ever! I used a quilted jersey and they are so snuggly warm, I think I will be living in them all winter let alone just doing yoga in them! I will be making a lot more of these. The pattern comes together quickly and brilliantly.
Branka Čelić –
This was very quick sew, even for a beginner in sewing with knit fabric like me. I just added 3 inches due to my height (6ft), and it fits perfect.
Melissa Clementz –
Super quick sew and comfy shorts. I’ll make the pants version next time for lounging. Only thing I would change is to make the pockets a little deeper.
Cheryl Schneider –
I made these as shorts. I used a nice sweater knit and a vintage singer 401 (no serger) so these were made exactly like someone with a basic sewing machine would make them. The pattern is very easy to follow and the instructions are clear with appropriate matching pictures. I would make these in a medium weight cotton/lycra or bamboo and wear them as work pants. In one hour, from cutting to done these can be made. The pleats in the front makes them fit lovely.I did not have to make any adjustments at all to the basic pattern.
Nicki Hibbits –
Super comfy pants with pockets! Made mine with a medium weight cotton spandex in a light denim heather color and used a coordinating floral for the pockets to add a pop of color. This was the first time I’ve made pockets, and the easy-to-follow directions made the pockets a breeze.
Nali Nali –
Yoga pants is so easy to sew! The slashed pockets give the professional look and who wouldn’t love pockets. It’s comfortable snd stylish and I will be wearing them on more occasions than just Yoga 😉

A quick and comfortable sew. With 3 lengths and the ability to use a variety of knits like Ponte, Liverpool, French terry, or jersey it is easy to make a pair that works for any occasion or weather.
Roeshell MCNelis –

Lisa Giorcelli –
These are such an easy sew for some really comfortable pants. I made the shorts version which is perfect for our Australian summer and they’ve already become my go-to pants.
Deb Sendelbach –
The yoga pants from RP are the best fitting pants I’ve ever made. I love that I was able to make a comfortable pair for dress pants without them looking like a pair of yoga pants. A must have pattern for anyone!
Deb Carpenter –
A very simple and straightforward pattern to assemble and make. You could easily make these fabulous pants in a day and they look great on too!
Rebekah Homer –
This pattern is pretty quick to put together and is a nice alternative to skin tight leggings that are popular today. I used a lightweight denim look knit and it would work wonderfully as a pair of slacks for a work environment. I’m still learning how to adjust pants for my unique shape, but appreciate the ease of construction.
Kelle Lujan –
A very comfortable knit pants pattern with a few extra details- pockets and pleats! At first, I wasn’t sure about the pleats, but they add something a little different to a pair of lounge pants. And, of course, the pockets are very handy. A quick sew that is easy and quick, but has some good skill building elements, especially if you’d like to learn how to sew basic pockets.
Jemma Tredinnick –
This was a lovely, quick and easy pattern, even for someone like me who rarely sew with knit fabric. I also usually avoid pleats but these look really good and the fit is just perfect. They are so comfortable and flattering – I made the shorts and the length was just right. Having pockets is also a bonus! I could happily wear the trouser length to work as they can look quite dressy, and a slouchy pair would make great pyjamas- they are very versatile!
Juliana Garibaldi-Appelhof –
The Yoga Pants have a perfect fit for my body! Beautiful and super comfy!! Easy to follow pattern’s instructions with step by step colour photos. The Yoga pants were all that i needed now! I am super happy!!! Thanks Rebecca Page & all team!!
Abby Villarreal –
These were a quick and easy sew! I was hoping for a flat-front pair of pants, as usually pleats in front stick out funny, but they laid flatter than I expected! It gives a little extra room in the front as well for pockets, which makes these pants so much different than any other lounge pants or athletic pants.
Karla Henrichs –
I thought these were pretty easy to make, once I figured out the pocket. I picked performance knit, they are so soft and the pants are very comfy. I went with the straight full length leg. Could be casual or somewhat dressy
Bernadette Aitken –
These were easy and quick to make. I made the shorts and I can see they would be great for day wear or pyjamas. They are very comfortable to wear.
Kelly Tuttle –
Very comfortable, slouchy, perfect for lounging. I couldn’t believe how quickly these came together- printed & taped together the pattern, then cut and sewn all in 1 afternoon!
Leigh Ann McDermott –
Dress up or dress down, these are one comfy pair of pants!
Mariah Fair-Wall –
Pants are very comfortable. I feel I could’ve gone down a size in the waist even though I was at the higher end of the range I sewed. The fit loosely in Cotton Lycra. The leg is a little wide for what I’m accustomed to as a “yoga” pant. I do like the style as a short for sure, the pleats make it a little more slimming.
June Butchee –
The Ladies Yoga pants are so comfortable with their yoga waistband plus they have pockets. You can choose from wide or tapered leg. There is also an option for a tummy control panel. You’ll want to make several pair. I did!
Manuela Zender –
Super easy to sew. Needs a little concentration for the pleats 😉 these pants are super comfortable. Sewed them with a sweater knit fabric. Great for all day or even for yoga.
Genevieve Lynne Grossmann –
This is a lovely fuss free sew. I love the pleats and the pants are easy to wear. Awesome pattern.
Bunford Orsi –
A very quick sew, with lots of options! And the best part? It’s super comfortable!
Nadine Simard –
This pattern is perfect for comfy pants (i.e pyjamas days!).
Roseanna Lacas –
These pants are SO comfy. The pleats add just enough room for moving around and the back makes my butt look amazing. This was my first time using my mom’s new serger so it was my first time reading the instructions from a serging point of view. I felt they were very clear and a very logical order. I had a length discrepancy in the hem of the pieces when I attached the front and back. The back piece at the outside side seam was approx 1 inch longer. My only complaint about the design of these pants are the depth of pockets. I would love about 2 inches more of depth so my phone is not at risk of bouncing out if I walk too fast.
Sharon Courtney –
Beginner friendly, quick sew for the perfect Yoga Pants. Tapered or straight leg and 3 leg lengths. Good clear instructions as always.
Samantha Goldberg –
These have the comfort of lounge pants but look nice enough that I won’t feel weird wearing them out of the house. The pattern sewed up so fast!
Kainui Paet Nihipali –
The Ladies Yoga pants are a beginner sew. They’re equipped with pockets (yay!) and various length options. I enjoyed how quick these were to sew and are a great addition to the wardrobe.
Carmen Brent –
The ruched waistband is a fun option on these incredibly comfortable yoga pants. I also love that there is a tapered and straight leg option. These might just be my new favorite pants!
Michele Axmaker Chapman –
These are more of a comfortable causal pant, great for non restrictive activities
Salomé Gonçalves –
Very easy pattern to follow and the finished product is so comfortable to wear ♡ The best part is that you can use a fancier-looking stretch fabric and these yoga pants can be dressed up!
Jane Whicheloe –
Nice quick and easy sew. Love the pockets
Emma Polley –
Such a nice easy pattern! I used denim look jersey to make some casual jean shorts. They’re so comfortable, definitely a pattern I will make again!
Francisca Beitler –
This is an easy and quick sew. Perfect for teenage girls who are to big for childrens sizes.
Karla Peterson –
What a great pattern, it was simple to sew with easy to understand directions. I made the straight leg version and enjoyed using red for the waistband and pockets for a bright pop of color against the royal main color.
Sarah Hopkins –
“Exactly what is needed in lockdown. The perfrct trousers pattern for working form home. The look completely changes with the different fabric choice.
I can’t wait to make more! “
Stephanie Carnovale –
I love these pants. They have some great options! My favourite is the shorts for my daughters dance classes, but the tapered full length are awesome for almost any occasion, dress it up or down.
Krystyna Czerwiec –

Amber Flanary –

Jenny Olson-Cole –
Once I figured out my correct size (thanks lazy measuring…) these pants fit great and were really easy to put together. So happy they have pockets! My tween thinks they are so cool she’s requested her own pair! I didn’t realize I’d picked such a stylish pattern, but it’s good to I might be fashionable again!
Peggy Pazera Cooke –
Simple and quick. You can have fun with the pockets and waistband by using contrasting or patterned fabric. Super comfortable, easy to wear around the house and out and about.
Vicky Hughes –

Magda Rindmo –
Fun pattern and the pockets looks so professional!
Charlotte Keyworth –
I liked the pattern, it was quick and easy but I felt the sizing wasnt clear. I made the size which fitted my waist measuremengs as this was the biggest size. The finished garment waa way too big. I altered them and they do fit better, but still quite slack and loose on the waist, I feel I could have made a 2xl and these would have been perfect.

Just completed my first pair Instructions eine of the best I’ve used! I sewed a size L according to measurements chart but removed 1” from side seams. I will see a size smaller next time. Looking forward to wearing something stylish around the house!
